Team Compete? Adopts Membership Subscription Fees; Announces completely revamped Amateur, Sports and Professional Leagues

Houston, TX (PRWEB) August 25, 2005

TeamcompeteTM today announced the launch of their long-anticipated TCAmateur League for Xbox Live team competition, the TCAL. The league introduces significant enhancements and new features into the open challenge play format that was pioneered by Teamcompete and has since become the standard Xbox Live style of competitive play. With the launch of the Amateur League, Teamcompete also announced the conversion to a subscription format where annual memberships will be required of all players beyond an initial 30 day free use period. A newly developed Sports offering, the TC Sports League (TCSL) was also introduced to address the 1vs1 competitive needs of the Xbox Live gaming community. All sites and information about the products are accessible from their main portals at http://www.teamcompete.com "This conversion to a pay site has been about a year in the making and was not made without considerable input from users and consideration of the impact on the overall gaming community," said theVeeg, founder of Team Compete.

"We set out to build the largest Xbox Live competitive community and accomplished that in a little over 2 years. If we have to get smaller to begin growing once again, we're prepared to do just that," according to the Veeg. "We want to be providing a higher quality service to a dedicated and private community which is just not possible with a free, publicly available service where people can hide behind bogus credentials and have no investment in the community at large. This is far more about the quality and investment of the community than it is about the money. We have a revenue model that incorporates membership fees but is not exclusively dependent upon them."

The Teamcompete support for 1vs1 sports games breaks new ground as well for a site with TEAM as their first name. "We toyed with sports a year ago but did not have the resources or underlying software tools to do it right and our members let us know about it. By bringing in the expertise of a site that has 3 years under their belt and incorporating their expertise with the Teamcompete software engine, we can bring sports gamers an environment that they will be most happy with. We were able to push the envelope a little in the process as well. And we'll be expanding rapidly over the next few months," said the Veeg.

When asked about the price for the services the Veeg responded with "at $ 9.99 and $ 14.99 for the TCSL and TCAL we have a product that costs less than what most members have already paid Hotmail to upgrade their storage accounts. Our most expensive bundle which includes the TCPL with free TCAL and TCSL is only $ 34.99 which in itself is less than the cost of one Starbucks a month. We purposely set pricing below what we feel the true value to be as an incentive to early adopters and to keep it both reasonable and affordable for the maximum number of potential users. We're looking to INCLUDE and not EXCLUDE potential users with our pricing models."
