Add a third computer to a routerless network.
Here's what I already have; three computer. one desk top running on windows xp, one laptop running on windows 8 (yeah, it sucks) and a second lap top running on windows vista.
One internetless network between the first laptop and the desktop connected with a crossover cable.
Now I'd like to know how to get the second laptop connected wirelessly to the router-less network. Don't tell me that it isn't possible either... I've seen that a million times and I've seen people talking about connecting several computers with a ad hoc network and have seen several other signs that it is possible without a router. I was told that setting up two computers without a router wasn't possible but it's done. Clearly that casts doubt so please don't tell me that.
While I know that it's a million times easier with a router and they sell them for $5 at garage sells. I don't want a router. this is only temporary and small. it can be done without one.
how do I do it step by step please.
---bonus--- I'd also like to bring the desktop online using the windows 8 laptop's internet which is connected to another network. everyone says all I have to do is cheek the box that says "allow other network users to connect through the computers internet connection." and enable sharing. it's cheeked and enabled but still no internet. and yes, the laptop and computer were both on and connected and the laptop was connected to the other network. (some people thought I was dumb and didn't do that. >_>)
